A close-up photo of a black and white penguin, one of the sea animals
common in the polar regions of Antarctica. The penguin stands in
front of a frozen, dark seascape.
When one thinks of Antarctica, one can almost hear the wind whistling
over the frozen, icy tundra. The coldest and windiest continent
in the world, Antarctica is also classified as a desert because it has
very little precipitation or rainfall. Imagine a place in which
99 percent is covered by ice, and there are no trees or bushes, and
you have Antarctica!
